As a trans male DJ, I’m proud to present my latest mix dedicated to Aiden Espada, an inspiring trans man rocking the fitness world. This hardcore hip-hop set celebrates resilience, strength, and the transformative power of visibility through music.
Why I Created This Mix
Aiden’s journey resonates deeply with my own. Like many trans individuals, we’ve both faced challenges and triumphs on our paths to authenticity. His commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering mindset also echoes with me. I wanted to capture that spirit—the drive, the focus, and the “never-say-die” attitude that Aiden embodies so well.
This mix is also about honoring the incredible contributions that we trans folks make in every field. Through this mix, I aim to reflect on Aiden’s journey and my own as trans men navigating our paths with pride and purpose. By creating this tribute, my goal is to increase trans visibility both in the music and fitness spheres.
Hip-Hop As The Chosen Musical Genre
Since its inception in the 1970s, hip-hop has always been a voice for the marginalized. The music is an outlet for people who have triumphed over struggles. With this mix, I’m creating a soundtrack that reflects the power of being seen, heard, and celebrated. The tracks are songs that Aiden has used in his Instagram posts. Some of the songs are raw as hell. That’s real talk!
