My Connection to Pride and Inspiration for this Mix

I am honored to bring you my first ever Pride mix for 2024. As a member of the community and for this election year in particular, I wanted to express my opposition to politicians who are anti-LGBT. As we all know, one of the Presidential candidates (a convicted felon, mind you) is seeking to impose laws against LGBT rights. Let me emphasize that political leanings are not the issue. What we need to remember is that anytime there have been governmental opposition to any community, the result has always been tyranny and violence. This mix is to honor all of us in the community as well as allies who see Anti-LGBT legislation for what it is—laws against human rights! 

Theme and Mood

With artists like Madonna, Cher, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus on the playlist, my goal was to highlight the richness and vibrancy that our community has contributed to popular music throughout the years. I have included dance genres such as Disco, House and modern pop to keep your toes tapping and the energy grooving.
